Chopping Board Markings is inspired by the movement of a sharp knife on a chopping board. The knife cuts in quick and close succession; its movements so slight they barely exist except for when it leaves marks on the chopping board. The work hence aims to define these swift knife strokes using multiple lines created from very thin, tightly-strung metal wire. The repetition and reflection created hopes to evoke a sense of sterility and yet danger, by mimicking the rhythm of a real chopping knife.
