Cleaning A Foggy Mirror is inspired by the movement of a windshield wiper when cleaning a steamed-up bathroom mirror. At first, the wiper streaks the surface with lines, but as more strokes are made, the mirror becomes clearer, until no evidence of the wiper’s strokes remains. The work aims to recreate each stroke of the wiper using the linearity of tape to vary direction, length, and width of the marks, in hopes of recording and preserving movement by an experience that is visual and tangible.
